چکیده

Planning and management of water resources is crucial to enhance agricultural productivity ensure food security in drylands. For this, adaptable reliable runoff prediction models are urgently needed support harvesting irrigation development. In this study we explored the potential Curve Number (CN) method estimate daily surface from representative land use types conditions Tigray (north Ethiopia). National Engineering Handbook (NEH-Tables) derive CN values for plots treated with without soil conservation (SWC) structures. Moreover, rainfall-runoff data collected 21 large (600–1000 m2) during three years (2010 2012) were used calculate CN-values. Results show that derived NEH-Tables larger by 21% compared those calculated plot data. The vary widely (34 91) response type, slope gradient, applied SWC Our results structures strongly influence production. Estimating Height runoff by using curve number method and Arc- CN Runoff tool in Afjeh Catchment

In Iran, there is a general risk of runoff and flood, and since this country has a dry to semi-arid climate, its predominant rainfall is not evenly distributed in terms of time and place. Routine runoff at the earth's surface can lead to risks such as groundwater abatement, social issues such as population migration, erosion and loss of soil fertility, sedimentation in reservoirs and water q...

Household-Level Determinants of Soil and Water Conservation Adoption Phases: Evidence from North-Western Ethiopian Highlands

Soil and water conservation (SWC) practices have been promoted in the highlands of Ethiopia during the last four decades. However, the level of adoption of SWC practices varies greatly. This paper examines the drivers of different stages of adoption of SWC technologies in the north-western highlands of Ethiopia. This study is based on a detailed farm survey among 298 households in three watersh...
